Alice Jeannette (Davis) Nelson

Alice Jeannette (Davis) Nelson, 88, formerly of Lyndonville, VT passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH with her Loving daughter at her side.

Alice was born on August 10, 1937, in Lyndonville, VT to Percy and Violet (Smith) Davis. Alice was the oldest of seven children. Alice was raised and educated in Hardwick/Montpelier area and graduated from Montpelier High School, class of 1956.

Alice worked as a custodian at Vermont College in Montpelier, VT until she moved to Pasadena, CA. There she continued to work as a custodian at California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA until she retired in 1998.

Upon retirement, Alice moved back to Vermont to be closer to family. While in CA, Alice found an interest in square dancing and continued to square dance with the Country Corners Square Dance Club of Lyndonville, VT. Alice also enjoyed gardening, walking, snowmobiling, the occasional motorcycle ride, sewing, card games and cherished family time. Alice was active with her hobbies until her health declined and she went to live with her daughter in Alton, NH in 2023.

Alice was predeceased by her parents, Percy & Violet Davis, sister Elizabeth (Davis) Hayward & brother-in-law David Hayward, brothers Lawrence (Larry) Davis, James (Jim) Davis, Clayton (Butch) Davis, son William Nelson Jr and ex-husband William Nelson.

Survivors include her daughter Diana (Nelson) Bailey and husband Elroy of Alton, NH, daughter-in-Law Sai Nelson of Pasadena, CA, sister Charlotte Tucker and husband Donald of Burlington, VT, brother Raymond (Lee)Davis and wife Bonnie of Barre, VT, sister-in-law Georgiann Davis of Clackamas, OR, sister-in-Law Tammy Davis of Berlin, VT, grandson Joshua Durivage and wife Ristina of Erie, PA and granddaughter Ashley Andrews and husband Daniel of Weare, NH, 6 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces & nephews and treasured friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1-3PM on Sunday, March 29. 2026, at the Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville, VT, and will conclude with a brief prayer service.

Private Interment will take place at a later date at the Lyndon Center Cemetery.
