Allison Roslund

November 27, 1980 — November 6, 2024

A Celebration of Life for Allison Roslund will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 3-5pm at the Lyndon Outing Club, 1580 Lily Pond Rd, Lyndonville, VT, with a Memorial Service to begin at 3pm at the same location.

On November 6, 2024, Allison Kristin Roslund’s sad darkness took her life. She struggled with mental illness and addiction for many years, but there was a time when she was happy.

She was born in St. Johnsbury Vermont on November 27, 1980, on Thanksgiving Day to Arthur and Julia Roslund. She lived the first half of her life in Wheelock with her family, returning later in her life to be a Wheelock homeowner. She was a happy child who loved life, her parents and her little sister Ashley. Some of Allison and Ashley’s best times growing up were spent skiing on Burke Mountain and figure skating at Fenton Chester Arena. She competed in both alpine skiing and figure skating.

She attended school at Miller’s Run, The Riverside School, Lyndon Institute and Burke Mountain Academy, graduating from BMA in 1998. She went on to college at Wheaton and then Lyndon State College. She found expression in her artwork and writing, which was encouraged by her maternal grandmother who was an artist. She won an art contest in grade school when she made a diorama recognizing Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. She was always a dreamer.

She is survived by her parents Arthur and Julia Roslund of Lyndonville, her little sister Ashley Kara Roslund and dog Ruby (who she cared for briefly as a puppy) of Whitefield NH, who all miss her terribly and will never feel completely whole without her. She is also survived by aunts and uncles, Marcia Peters (Lon), David Knapp (Kathy), Cynthia Knapp (Pete), Jamie Knapp (Rick), John Roslund and Susan Dangel (Robert), and cousins Megan Peters, Meredith Peters and David T. Knapp. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents David and Emily Knapp and paternal grandparents Arthur and Madeline Roslund, and her beloved dog Szuki.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Allison’s name to: Jenna’s Promise, PO Box 575, Johnson VT 05656.
