Bonnie Lucille (Morey) Norcross

On February 27, 2026, our Momma bird flew home. Bonnie Lucille (Morey) Norcross, age 72, passed peacefully, surrounded by family, in the comfort of her daughter’s home, following a 6-month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In true Bonnie fashion, she fought with a sense of humor and a positive attitude. Continuing to put others' needs ahead of her own.

Bonnie was born on December 13, 1953, to Henry A. and Lorraine Morey in St. Johnsbury Vermont where she spent the entirety of her childhood, graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1972.

She married her husband, Rodney, on October 27th, 1974. The following year they welcomed their daughter Tracy and 21 months later their son Bruce. Family was at the core of her essence, and she had a way of making EVERYONE feel like family. To know her was to know what it felt like to be loved. In her presence, all felt right with the world. Her sagely advice, infinite wisdom, thirst for adventure and infectious cackle were woven into the fabric of all our lives. She was a Mom, Meme, wife, sister, Grammie, Aunt Bonnie and so much more.

She firmly believed that where there was a will there was a way and if you wanted change you needed to be willing to put in the effort to make it happen. She was active in her community as a school board member, holding various town offices, including the first female select board member in the town of Wheelock, a coach, a leader of various activities and so much more. She will not be remembered for grand gestures but rather for showing up for every moment that mattered.

Over the years she held various jobs and titles but regardless of the job, she always had a way of adding a motherly touch to any position. Children truly brought her the greatest joy and she never met a child that she couldn’t love. In all that life threw at her she could

always get lost in play with a child, whether it be snake wrangling with her nephews, make up parties with her nieces, tasting the many concoctions that Zebb whipped up for her, or playing “I Love You More”.

She believed that we are all put on this earth for a reason and she spent every day making the world a better place for those around her. Even in her last days her focus was on teaching others and helping to guide us all through the final stages of life. She asked the kids if they had any questions and told them that dying was not a bad thing, just a sad thing. She guided us through her death and she will continue to guide us from above (both spiritually and impishly).

She is survived by her family; husband of 52 years, Rodney; her children Tracy and husband Nate Jordan and Bruce and wife Darcy Norcross. Grandchildren, Zebb Winot and fiancé Rylee Burgess, Mitch and Ana Wilkins (Bri and Maya) , Danika and Tucker Sizen (Easton and Emerson), Trevor Norcross and Bret Norcross. Siblings, Allen and Diane Morey and Brenda Darling and their families; Josh Darling, Tyler (Carissa, Hailey, Holden and Hattie) Darling, April (Eddie, Cole and Ally) Brown, Christine Morey (Scott Bijolle, Karter Morey and Rhett Bijolle), brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Sherry Norcross, along with all of her friends and “family” that she has collected over the years. Please know that she loved and treasured each and every one of you.

She was reunited with her parents (Henry A. and Lorraine Morey), in-laws (Bruce and Shila Norcross) and countless others who wrapped her in their arms at the gates of heaven.

Let us remember that a heart that feels broken is a heart that has been filled with love. Now, let her love seep back in, fill up that space and keep her memory and legacy alive by sharing the love she gave to you with someone else. Love you more!
