Carlene Brill

Carlene L. Brill, age 95, of Chesley Hill Road, Sheffield, VT passed away with her family at her side, Friday, January 30, 2026.

Carlene was born in Lyndonville, VT, on September 1, 1930, daughter to the late Reginald A. and Muriel (Day) Little. She grew up in Lyndonville early on but the family moved to Watertown, MA, in 1945 until 1952 and she graduated from Watertown High School with the Class of 1948. Carlene worked in Massachusetts at the Needham Bank until moving back to the area working for Pyrofax Gas Co. On January 28, 1950, she married Lewis H. Brill and shared 58 years until his passing on Christmas Day 2008. Carlene was a homemaker for much of her life but kept the books for her husband at Western Auto Store in Lyndonville for 40 years. She enjoyed reading, knitting and knitted many Christmas stockings for all the grand and great-grandkids. She loved to dance and did so for many years. Camping was always a must, even in the rain! Carlene was a longtime member of the Sheffield Federated Church the past several years, belonged to the Sheffield’s Ladies’ Aide and the Home Dem.

She is survived by her 4 children: Bonnie Boucher (Dean) of Derby, VT, L. Steven Brill (Susan) of Sheffield, Debbie Russell (Rick) of Sheffield, Susan Noyes also of Sheffield, her brother: Richard Little of Sarasota, FL, many grand and great-grandchildren.

Carlene was also predeceased by her sister: Catherine Allen and 2 grand-daughters: Katy Bedor and Becky Sue Cadieux

A Graveside Service will be held at 1PM on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Wm. Dexter Cemetery, VT RT122 in Sheffield. There will be no calling hours at this time.
