Carol Lauman

January 29, 1931 — March 14, 2019

Carol Louise Lauman, 88, of St. Johnsbury, Vt. passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

Carol was born in Grinnell, Iowa on January 29, 1931, daughter to William H. and Alice L. (Carl) Chriss.  She was raised and educated in Centerville, Iowa and received her associates degree at a community college in Clarinda, Iowa.

On November 29, 1953, she married Vern C. Lauman. They moved to St. Johnsbury in 1968 when Vern took a job there.  They shared 51 years together until Vern’s death in 2005. Carol spent her days caring for her children and her home. She also ran a ceramics studio out of her house.

Carol was a member of the Lyndonville Methodist Church which she dearly loved.

Survivors include her sons: Rodney of St. Johnsbury, and Richard of Old Orchard, ME; and two brothers:  Ronnie Chriss of Anaheim, CA, and Jim Chriss of Katie, TX.

Carol was predeceased by her husband: Vern C. Lauman and an infant son: Curtis.

Calling hours will be held 6-8pm Monday March 18, 2019 at Sayles Funeral Home, located at 525 Summer Street, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.

A private graveside service will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in the spring.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the loving care of Susie Greaves at her home in Lyndonville.
