Casey Manuel Smith, Sr.

Casey Manuel Smith, Sr, age 45, of Lunenburg, VT passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

Casey was born in Stoughton, MA, on January 15, 1981, son to the late Harold B. Smith and Wanda (Howland) Abbey. He lived in Bethlehem, NH until the age of 11 when the family moved to Vermont.

Spoken of as a ray of sunshine and a gentle giant, Casey was kindhearted and always said, “I love you.” He enjoyed music, fishing, and time with his family. He was a great cook. Casey was a Boston Bruins fan and always looked good in his Bruins hats and watches. He was very fond of his cat, Tyson. Although not living together, Casey remained best friends with his wife, Jessica.

Survivors include his mother: Wanda Abbey and her husband Marc Abbey, Sr of Lunenburg; his wife: Jessica (Humphrey) Smith of St. Johnsbury, VT; three children: Harmony, Andy, and Lillian Smith all of St. Johnsbury; three siblings: Harold Smith, Patricia Smith, and Marc Abbey and wife Kristen.

He was predeceased by his father: Harold Smith; a brother: Kevin Smith; and son: Casey Jr.
