Charles Kinerson

March 29, 1923 — December 10, 2018

Charles F. Kinerson, 95, (WW II Vet), of North Haverhill, NH, formerly of Danville, Vt., entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 10, 2018.  He was born in Peacham, Vt. on March 29, 1923 to Charles Raymond and Elizabeth (Scott) Kinerson.

Charles was predeceased by both parents, his brothers: Kenneth Kinerson and K. Scott Kinerson; his wives: Laura (Hall) Kinerson, Mae (Beebe) Kinerson, and Eula (Mitchell) Kinerson; and a son, Jeffrey Kinerson.

Charles is survived by: a brother-in-law, Thomas Hall; a son, David R. (June E.) Kinerson, daughters: Kitty (Carl) Thresher, and Barbara Lohman; daughter-in-law, Lise Kinerson; grandsons: Andrew D.(Rebecca)Kinerson, Larry Brown, Connor Kinerson, Cameron Kinerson and Coree (Julie) Kinerson; granddaughters: Kristina Smith, Tamara (Chris) Griffin; great granddaughters: Laura (Lohman) Byam, Shyanna Griffin; and eight great grandsons: Liam Kinerson, Gavin Kinerson, Aiden Kinerson, Bentley Kinerson, Steven Sheldon, Atreyu Griffin, Miles Macie and Grayson Ouellette., and one great, great granddaughter, Sophia Thresher.  Also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and two step-sons: Ken (Kathi) Mitchell and Wayne (Rahe) Mitchell; and a step-daughter, Marilyn Bedell and a step-daughter-in-law, Becky Mitchell, four step-grandsons, two step-granddaughters, two step-great grandsons, and a step-great granddaughter.

Charles graduated from the Woodsville High School.  He served 3 years in the Army Air Corp in W. W. II and served 10 months in European Theatre. Charles received his honorary discharge from the military on December 30, 1945 at Fort Divans, MA.

For several years, Charles worked as a salesman, selling fishing and hunting supplies for Thompson and Hoag.  He also operated his own upholstery business prior to his retirement.

When Charles was 80 years old, he drove to Alaska all by himself in his new PT Dream Cruiser.  He took many pictures of the various places he visited.  He saw Niagara Falls, drove on the Alaskan Highway, saw McKinley National Park, Anchorage, Homer, Valdez, Tok and Hanes, Alaska.  He took the ferry to Bellingham, Washington.  He said, “It was a great trip on the inside passage”.

Charles always had a story to tell about one of his many adventures he had during his lifetime.  He could talk for hours on almost any subject.  He was a very interesting person and a very kind, caring man.

During his final years, Charles resided at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, New Hampshire.

Charles will be greatly missed by his family, friends, his church family and members of the community.

The viewing will be held at Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street, St. Johnsbury, Vt. on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 1-2 p.m.  The funeral will follow shortly after the viewing.  The interment will be at the Danville Green Cemetery following the funeral service.
