Charles "Chummy" Williamson

Lyndonville, VT:  Charles "Chummy" Alton Williamson passed away Feb 15, 2024 at 96 years old. He was born 10/27/1927 to Guy and Nina (Amidon)Williamson in St. Johnsbury, VT. He was the oldest of seven children. He served in the Air Force between 1945 -1948. While being stationed in Tampa, FL, he met his wife, June (Fogle). They were married in Topeka, Kansas. After he retired from the Air Force, they moved back to Vermont. They had 5 daughters.

Charles worked various jobs over the years including Tap and Die and also in the Maintenance Dept at Lyndon State College.

Charles is survived by his daughters: Judith (Clayton) Hubbard, Nancy Mitchem, Sharon (Donald) Bean, Deborah (Reg) McKinstry and Cheryl (Brian) Turcotte. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sheila, Scott, Dan, Tanika, Leanne, Will, Seth, Michael, Tracey, Peter, Amy, Jody and Carrie as well as great-grandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, June. They were married on August 14, 1948, just 1 month shy of their 75th anniversary when she passed away. Also predeceased by his grandson, Seth and his brothers Tom, Bob, Pete and his sisters Louise, Lucille and Lorraine.

Charles was a wonderful husband and an amazing father to his daughters. Nothing was more important to him than his family. He has always been a "rock" for them. He will be greatly missed by his daughters and sons-in-law as well as all of his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and kept his family entertained with his wisdom and amazing common sense of things.

Charles was known by most of his neighbors as he sat outside on his deck in Lyndon, which is the property his parents owned since the 1940's. Many would either walk by and stop to visit or ride by in their cars and honk to him. We would like to thank them all. He loved to garden and putter on his property. He enjoyed being active and many saw him shoveling his driveway right up until he got sick recently.

A celebration of his life will be at the convenience of his family at a future time.

 We love you Dad !!
