Clayton Raymond Bell Sr., age 66 of St. Johnsbury, VT passed away unexpectedly at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital on September 18, 2025, at 9:20pm after a recent illness.
Clayton was born in Rutland, VT on April 9, 1959, son to the late Marion Bell and James Webber. During his childhood, he was raised and educated in a number of places. He loved Junkin and through it, was able to support his family. He also worked detailing cars for a few years.
Clayton enjoyed tattooing. He did them for many people over the years, as well as doing most of his own. Clayton hated winter. During the summer he loved being outside, having a good time hanging out with friends. Clayton was proud of his children. He considered being a dad his greatest accomplishment and loved being grandpa to his grandchildren and his one great-grandson. Having a great sense of humor, Clayton was a good man who touched many lives and brought smiles and laughter to everyone around. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Those surviving include his 5 children: Theresa Bell of St. Johnsbury, VT, Mike Bell Sr. and wife Bobbi-Jo Austin of Newport, VT, Clayton Bell Jr. (CJ) of Barnet, VT, Robert Beaton of Groveton, NH, and Logan Bell of New Haven, VT; 5 grandchildren: Devon Deth, Destiny Bell, Mike Bell Jr, and Tamara and Angelo Aja; 1 great-grandson: Weston Bell; his friend and former girlfriend: Kathleen Mulligan; and his cousins, nieces, nephews, and several close friends.
He was predeceased by his mother: Marion Bell; his father: James Webb; his former wife: Tammy Bell; a son-in-law: Jerry Johnson; other family members and close friends.
At Claytons request there will be no services or visitation.
