North Troy, VT: Darwin Renaldo Dingman, Sr., age 88, of N. Jay Road, died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, June 23, 2025, following a recent decline.
Darwin was born on September 17, 1936, in Stark, NH, son to the late Hugh and Hazel (Westover) Dingman. He was raised and educated in Groveton, NH and went into the U.S. Army serving in Italy at the tail end of the Korean War. He trained servicemen in alpine skiing continuing the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division of WWII troops on the Italian slopes. He returned to Vermont and worked lift maintenance at Jay Peak from the mid to late 60’s into the 70’s. Darwin married Madeline (Vincent) and shared 62 years when she died on April 16, 2021. Darwin was employed at Space Research and then joined Ethan Allen as a serviceman for 20 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, watching westerns, playing horseshoes, going to hunting camp and corn-roasts.
He is survived by his two sons: Darwin, Jr. of Repentigny, Quebec and Mark Dingman of North Troy, 8 grandchildren and several great & great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter: Lisa Dingman on January 28, 2025.
There will be no Calling Hours or services at this time. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at the Troy Cemetery.
