Denise Phyllis Anderson, 73, of Newark, VT, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026 at her home.
Denise was born on September 4, 1952 at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH, to the late Donald & Joyce (McFarland) LaForge. She graduated from Cocoa High School in Cocoa, FL before beginning a career in home health. She married William Anderson and shared 35 years together before his passing in 2011. She shared her later years with her partner, Tony Demasi, sharing 23 years together before his passing in 2025.
Denise will be remembered as a free spirit who always saw the best in people. She was a devoted mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling the country. She was a talented artist and loved crafts. She would always make handmade gifts for her grandkids during the holidays and on their birthdays. She enjoyed music and musical instruments, especially the hand pan. She loved animals and was a devoted pet owner throughout her life. She loved caring for people and would often take her dog with her to visit the elderly. She loved gardening and flowers. She loved living in Vermont, especially in the fall when the leaves began to turn. She was also deeply spiritual and had unwavering faith. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Denise is survived by her children Bridget (Christopher Bobo) Anderson & Jared Anderson; grandchildren Ellyanne Chatfield, Cashius Anderson, Elijah Bobo & Noah Bobo; siblings Thomas LaForge, Donna Jody Orr & Donald LaForge; nephew Joshua LaForge; cousins Ann Knight, Neil McFarland, & Bobby Carriveau; as well as many other extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, husband, and partner, she was predeceased by her child Robin Carter, sister Michelle LaForge Buckner, uncles Pat McFarland, Mac McFarland & Dick McFarland, cousin John Corriveau, and many others in the long line of McFarlands in the Newark area.
At Denise’s request, there will be no public services.
