Donald Beer, Sr.

Lyndonville, VT: Donald Dean Beer, Sr., age 74, of Gilman Road, passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lyndon Center, Tuesday morning, December 23, 2025.

Donald was born on November 27, 1951, son to the late Wilbur Downing, Sr. and Doris Irene (Flood) Beer. He was raised and educated in Lyndonville graduating from Lyndon Institute with the Class of 1971. Don worked as a roofer most all his life, starting with Gracie Roofing and later with Palmeri Roofing. The last 10 years of his working career found him as custodian for the Lyndon Town and the St, J District Schools. Don avidly enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Naida (St. Onge) Beer of Lyndon Center, his daughter Tanyia LaCoss and husband, Preston, of Lyndonville, his son: Donald Beer Jr. And his partner Kaluwa Bell. 2 stepdaughters Lisa Corrow, and Peggy Butler, his brother: Francis Beer of Newark, his sister, Donna Goldsworthy of Lyndonville, 12 grandchildren: Andrew Spencer (Alisia), Lianna Spencer (Phil Hawthorne), Patrick Spencer (Mikayla Allard), Erica Beer, Emily Beer, Sophia Beer, Alyssa Raisner (Mark), Preston LaCoss, II (Desiree), Ashtyn Hartshorn (husband Brandon), Amber Manuels, Andrew Corrow and Brittney Corrow, 2 step-grandchildren. Kanisha Olcott and Cody Olcott, 20 great-grandchildren and by many special nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his brothers: Wilbur, Jr. and Robert Beer.

A Celebration of life will be at 1PM on Sunday, January 11th at the Lyndonville VFW on Hill Street.

A Graveside Service will be held Tentatively at 3PM on June 12, 2026, at the Wm. Dexter Cemetery in Sheffield, VT. There will be no calling hours at this time.
