Eric Belknap

Eric Paul Belknap, age 53, of Walsh Road, passed away at his home with daughter Morgan Belknap by his side due to a decline in health on Saturday, January 19, 2024. 

Eric was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on January 18, 1971, son to the late Paul Wesley and Bernadine Mae (Harbough) Belknap.  He grew up in Waterford, graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in the Class of 1990 and has worked construction most all of his life, from landscaping, handyman, plowing and anything that needed to be done in the St. Johnsbury and Waterford areas.

He was an avid hunter and was proud to be able to get a deer this past season. In his youth  Eric played basketball and continued to love the sport.  He loved watching T.J and Morgan play and even coached AAU.  He most enjoyed times when he could be outside, whether it was taking care of the lawn or beside a fire he built just for him and his dog Maddox. He always kept fond memories of times with family and extended family, especially camping, going to the racetrack, and the fair.

Eric is survived by Step-son, T.J. Shaw (Granddaughter Ellie), of Barnet; daughter Morgan Belknap (Granddaughter Westlee), of Lyndonville; and his brother: Calvin and wife, Alisa, of South Carolina. He was predeceased by his brother, Jeff Belknap.

A private graveside service will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his parents.
