Evan Newland

East Haven, VT: Evan Douglas Newland, age 39, of East Haven, VT, died unexpectedly at his home Saturday, March 23, 2024.

Evan was born on April 16, 1984, in St. Johnsbury, VT, son to Brian Dale and Linda Ann (Ely) Newland.  He grew up in East Burke on his family's Farm and graduated from Lyndon Institute with the Class of 2003.

Evan could be found by a fire pit with friends on any given day. On a hot summer day Evan enjoyed a quick trip to Willoughby to take a few jumps off Devil's Rock. Evan had a natural love for all animals, his horse Finelly received lots of his love and time. Evan may have sputtered at times but was always willing to help out his sister with the horse shows on the management side. She would drag him from the CCF horse shows to CVHS shows on the other side of the state. Evan was always there for his family, he was the one who liked to take charge and get things moving, he shared his love with so many people and never looked for it in return.

Evan spent the last several years working in dental Offices, from St. Johnsbury to Newport. Evan enjoyed every one of his co-workers.

As we all know Evan never was without the sunshine in his smile and a source of laughter.

Evan is survived by his parents: Linda and Brian Newland of East Burke, his siblings: Philip (Jessica) Newland of Sutton, VT, Trisha Switser (Ben) of East Burke, Nephews: Holden and Grant Newland, Sawyer and Able Brown and Neice: Jerzie Newland, Aunts & Uncles: Daniel (Judy) Newland, Richard (Lori) Newland, Carol (Bob) Bushey, Marcia (Rick) Hackett, Debbie (Ed) Bailey, Wendy Simpson, Tracy Newland, Brandy Newland, Gary Ely, Cindy Ely and so many cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Gordon & Betty Ely, his paternal grandparents: Marshall & Charmaine Newland, his cousin: Jenny Hackett, his niece: Prezlie Newland and his uncles: Marshall and Bobby Newland.
