Francis Heidt

Francis J. "Frank" Heidt, 76, of Lyndon, died unexpectedly Sunday evening January 4, 2015 while at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA.
He was born September 4, 1938 in Ramsey, NJ, the son of Donald and Clara (Haight) Heidt. Following high school Frank joined and served in the US Navy. On April 30, 1966 he and Linda Goering were united in marriage. The Heidts relocated to Vermont in 1967, living in St. Johnsbury until moving to their home in Lyndon in 1969. They were both faithful and active members of the Lyndon Bible Church. Frank worked as a technician and purchaser at the Fairbanks Scale Co. in St. Johnsbury for many years. He liked hunting, fishing and going for long walks with his dogs. Spending time with family and friends brought him great joy. He was predeceased by his parents; an infant daughter Lorraine in 1974; and his wife Linda Heidt in 2012. Survivors include his three children, William Heidt and his wife Catherine of Newnan, GA, Christopher Heidt and his wife Lesley of Martha's Vineyard, MA and Gretchen Collins and her husband Bart of Hilliard, OH; two grandchildren, Audrey and Ryan; his brother, Donald Heidt of New Jersey; three sisters, Patricia Symon and her husband Al of New Jersey, Winifred Timony of New Jersey and Rose Dykhouse and her husband Charles of Missouri; nieces, nephews, many friends and his Lyndon Bible Church community.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 10 at 11:00 AM at the Lyndon Bible Church with the Pastor Tim Hash officiating. Spring burial will be in Lyndon Center Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family Friday evening from 6-8 at the Guibord Funeral Home. Donations made in Frank's memory may be payable to the Lyndon Bible Church, P.O. Box 1, Lyndonville, VT 05851 and marked for "The Children's Camp Fund". Private on-line condolences may be shared with the family at www.guibordfh.com. Guibord Funeral Home is located on the corner of Main and Center Streets, Lyndonville.
