Freddie Kenney

Waterford, VT: Freddie Harry Kenney, age 92, died peacefully in his sleep, early April 19, 2024, at his home in Waterford, VT.

Freddie was born in Guildhall, VT, on May 6, 1931, son to the late Peter Colford and Catherine (Thomas) Kenney.  He grew up in the Northeast Kingdom and graduated from St. Johnsbury Trade School in 1949. Freddie worked as a brick mason most all his life but was a great mechanic and carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to all the kids and grandkids games that he could so Nana and Papa could cheer them on.  He married Gloria J. Boyd: she passed in 2009.  They were able to travel and visit much of the United States and even had a trip to Ireland. Freddie was a great family man and would offer that which is so precious when asked of him, his time.

He is survived by his children: Phillip Kenney, Sr. (Barbara) of Guilford, CT, Rhonda Lopes (Joe) of RI, Kevin Kenney of RI, Gary Kenney (Jacqueline) of Littleton, NH, Cynthia Kenney (Kevin Holbrook) of St. Johnsbury, his sister: Helen Bedor of St. Johnsbury, 9 grandchildren: Kristen, Phillip, II, Kasie, Jamie, Marie, Johnathan, Alissa, Shannon, Robert,  several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Freddie was predeceased also by a son: Peter Kenney, granddaughter: Sarah Beth, 4 siblings: Floyd Kenney, Mary Letourneau, Hilda Daigle and Steve Burgess.

Funeral services will be held at the Union Baptist Church on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11am with a luncheon to follow.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Waterford, VT immediately after.
