Georgette Auger

St. Johnsbury, VT: Georgette Auger, age 97, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026. Georgette was born on August 18, 1928, in Drummondville, Quebec, daughter to the late Alfeda and Eva (Cardinal) Precourt. She was raised and educated in Drummondville and married Maurice Auger on July 3, 1948. They moved to the states 70 years ago and shared 35 years until his passing on December 12, 1983. She enjoyed dancing with Maurice to big band music, downhill skiing at Jay Peak, and golfing with friends and family. Following retirement Georgette enjoyed volunteering at NVRH for over 15 years. She has resided at the St Johnsbury House for over 20 years.

She is survived by her two children Linda Malko (Randy) of Nova Scotia and Michael Auger (Heather Wishart) of Waterford, VT, and a sister, Denise Godbout of Montreal. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Matthew Auger (Christine), Mindy Benvie (Neal) and Carol Malko (Michael Beall), and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a number of siblings.

A funeral Mass will be scheduled in the upcoming weeks, and burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newport, VT this summer.
