Gwendolyn Lee Douse

Gwendolyn Lee Douse, 70, of Cabot, VT passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at her home.

Gwendolyn was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on December 23, 1952, to Arthur and Arlene (Nunn) Miller.  She graduated from Danville High School, Class of 1970.  In June of 1972, Gwen married Louis E. Douse. She worked at St. Johnsbury Trucking as an office clerk.  Following her husband’s death in 1972, Gwen raised her two children on her own.

Gwen was community oriented.  She was a Boy Scout leader from 1981 – 2006 and a St. Johnsbury baseball couch for her daughter’s team. She was very involved in Neighbors in Action in Cabot, VT.  Gwen’s favorite color was red. She was a huge Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed Bingo.

Survivors include her children: Jessica Lee Hagan and husband John of Littleton, NH, and Jace Shay Douse of Abbington, MA; a brother: Herbert Miller of West Burke; sisters: Elaine Noyes and husband Bradly of Concord, VT, and Leslie Miller-Brown and husband Steven Brown of East Burke, VT; two grandchildren: Brett J. Hagan (Jaymi Foster) of Littleton, NH and Josslyn L. Norris (Kyle) of Littleton; two great-grandchildren: Jamison Ralph Norris and Emeri Laine Hagan. 

She was predeceased by her husband: Louis Douse, and her parents: Arthur Henry Miller and Arlene Lillian Miller.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023, 1:00PM at Danville Green Cemetery in Danville, VT. Immediately following, all are invited to a gathering at the Neighbors in Action, 3339 Main Street, Cabot, VT.
