Janice Lee Gray

Janice Lee Gray, 79 of North Concord passed away peacefully at the Country Village Center in Lancaster, NH on May 20, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1946 in St. Johnsbury, VT to Elum and Helen King both predeceased her.

She was educated in North Troy VT and Island Pond VT.

Janice married Stuart Gray (he predeceased her in 2023) of Derby Line, VT on January 9, 1965. They had 3 children: Joanne Wright of Lisbon, NH, Jeffrey Gray and his partner Rachel of Jay, ME and Kevin Gray and his wife Katrina of Concord, VT.

Janice held several different jobs over the years including Ethan Allen Furniture, Caledonia Home Health, Canterbury Inn, Littleton Stamp & Coin and eventually in her later years she was appointed Health Officer and Selectman for the Town of Concord, VT.

Janice enjoyed yard sales and decorating her home. She was a social butterfly and loved to talk and joke around. She had a good sense of humor and a heart of gold. Janice had a no- nonsense attitude along with a nurturing side. She always wanted to make sure we were all ok and safe and sound. She always voiced words of encouragement if we needed. Her pantry and fridge were always open if we needed anything.

Janice is survived by several grandchildren: Christopher Wright Jr and his wife Tayla, Aaron Wright and his wife Kristie, Brandon Gray and his partner Julie, Ryan Gray and his wife Ellen, Gregory Gray and his partner Christy, Dylan Gray and Kaylee Gray and her partner Cory.

Janice aka Gigi or Big Mama she was nicknamed is survived by several great-grandchildren: Camdyn Gray, Isabella Wright, Jackson Wright, Dalton Wright, Ryder Wright, Ariel Wright, Harper Putvain and Eli Gray.

She also has a brother-in-law Reginald Gray and his wife Colleen and their children Lee and Gray. A cousin Susan Ranney and her husband Richard Ranney and their children Kim. and Troy. Janet Smith and Steve Lee cousins.

Special friends include Rodney Young, Richard and Patti Reed, Sally Brill, Zelda Gonyer, Cindy Stevens, John Sleeper, Sten Lium, Robert and Rachel Bean, Everett McCarty, Mike and Mya Allen, Betty Perrault and Cindy Collier.

Thank you to all the staff at the Country Village Center for taking care of Janice. The family will forever be grateful.

She will be missed beyond measure!!!

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held this Summer 2026.
