Jean Locke

February 24, 1935 — June 8, 2015

Jean Locke of St. Johnsbury passed away Monday, June 8, 2015 at the age of 80. She has resided at The Pines in Lyndon for the past two years.
She was born in St. Johnsbury on Feb. 24, 1935 and was raised in Concord by her father and mother, Arthur and Erma Piper. She married David Locke June 25, 1960.
Jean worked as a LNA at NVRH, St Johnsbury Health & Rehab, The Pines Health and Rehab and ending her career at Caledonian Home Health. After retirement Jean was a frequent flier at Dunkin Donuts at the early morning hours. Jean also took care of her husband David when he was diagnosed with cancer in 1997 until his passing in 2005.
She is survived by three children: Randy Locke, Melody Locke (601 Red Village Rd. 05851), and Kim Russell and husband Tim (1099 Mt. Pisgah Rd. 05819); four grandchildren: Christina and Maranda Locke, Trish and Kris Russell; 4 great grandchildren: Kayden, Delia, Claire and David, one brother Arthur "Sonny" Piper of California, one sister Betty Unger of California one brother-in-law Roland Heath Sr of North Danville and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held this Saturday, June 13 at 11AM at the North Danville Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert H. Sargent officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Grove Cemetery in East St Johnsbury. There will be no visiting hours.
