Baby Johnathan Joseph Dubois of St. Johnsbury, better known as 'J.J.', died Monday, March 16, 2015 at Boston Children's Hospital.
Born at DHMC in Lebanon, New Hampshire on Oct. 28, 2014, and the son of Johnathan and Nykiah 'Nikki' (Blake) Dubois, J.J. was born with a congenital heart disease known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He is also survived by his four siblings: Paige, Weston, Danielle, and Landon.
On J.J's maternal side, he is survived by his grandparents, Wayne and Connie Smith of Newbury; Wayne's parents (J.J.'s great-grandparents) Marty and Ramon Smith of Newbury; Connie's mother (J.J.'s great-grandmother) Muriel Heywood and her husband Myron of St. Johnsbury, Connie's father (J.J.'s great-grandfather ) Wilbur Blake and his wife Robin of Hardwick.
On J.J.'s paternal side, he is survived by his grandmother, Marie Morse and her husband Robert of St. Johnsbury; his grandfather and his namesake, Joseph Dubois, predeceased him in 2010; also by Marie's father (J.J.'s great-grandfather) Marvin Bailey and wife Virginia of East Barnet; Marie's mother (J.J.'s great-grandmother) Wilma Zettlemoyer and husband Carl of Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania. He was also predeceased by Joseph's parents (J.J.'s great-grandparents), Francis and Louise Dubois who were of St. Johnsbury.
He is also survived by Nikki's brothers and sisters: Nathan, Daniel, Alysia, Hollie, Gage and Brett; John's brothers and sisters: Thomas, Joseph, Candice (predeceased), Bree, Michael and Aaron (all being J.J.'s aunts and uncles); cousins and their families; and all the many, many friends that helped support the family during this difficult time.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home this Saturday, March 21 from 2-4 p.m. A brief prayer service, beginning at 3:30 p.m. will be led by the Rev. Ann Hockridge. At the funeral home there will be a separate chapel area set up for those who wish to say their personal goodbyes and see J.J. for one last time.
