Joyce Walsh

Joyce J. Walsh, 61, of Calkins Camp Road, passed away unexpectedly from a recently discovered condition at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, Monday, July 20, 2015.

Joyce was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, March 16, 1954, daughter to the late, John and Ethel (Stuart) Jones. She was raised and educated in Concord, VT and married Michael K. Walsh on May 28, 1977; they shared over 38 years together and have lived in Danville for 34 years coming from St. Johnsbury & Lyndonville. Joyce has been a daycare provider nearly all her life from babysitting as a teenager to watching children and grandchildren in her home, all of which prepared her for her love and care for her family. Her family meant everything to her especially her children and grandchildren. She did everything with them which included attending all the sports events and going to all the concerts. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, riding her motorcycle with her husband, working on her vegetable garden, and playing with her grandkids in her pool.

In addition to her beloved husband, Michael, she is survived by her children: Christopher M Walsh and his wife Brittany of Danville, Meredith Gilbert and her husband Shawn of Peacham; 6 beloved grandchildren: Hunter, Madisyn, Toby, Shane, Haidyn and Kenzey; her 8 siblings: Jennifer Fleming of Fredericksburg, VA, Ronald Jones of St. Johnsbury, Judy Wheelock (Max) of Woodbury, VT, Jacqueline "Jackie" Leigh (Jerry) of W. Danville, John Jones (Phyllis) of N. Concord, Rachel Storey (Stanley) of Calais, VT, Wanda Poor (David) of St. Johnsbury, Harold Lunnie ( Denise) of Concord, her very special cousins: Cynthia Stuart and Susan Noyes, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her step-father: Milton Lunnie, her aunt & Uncle: Henry & Mildred Stuart and her mother-in-law: Dorothy Walsh.

Friends may call on the family for visitation from 3-5PM on Saturday, July25, 2015, at the Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury, VT. Burial will be private.
