Judith Daigneault

August 26, 1926 — April 18, 2015

Mrs. Judith Daigneault, formerly of Tremont St. in St. Johnsbury, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the age of 88. She had resided at The Pines for the past year and a half.
She was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on Aug. 26, 1926, the daughter of Eugene and Florence Ellingwood. Her brother Gene Ellingwood passed away last year.
Judy graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1943. That class, throughout the years, has remained very close, and Judy frequently helped organize those luncheons and attended when she was able.
The Daigneaults co-owned and operated Reliance Electric where she was the bookkeeper. She and Gerard loved their time spent at camp on Lake Willoughby where she particularly enjoyed the sunsets. Judy stayed busy gardening, picking berries, and knitting. Her secret homemade caramels were enjoyed every Christmas; that recipe will remain her secret! She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Paul Daigneault and wife Judy of Passumpsic, Robert Daigneault and wife Daryl of Amesbury, Massachusetts; six grandchildren: Aaron and John; Nicole, Brad, Noelle, and Beau; nine great-grandchildren: Carly, Rachel, Nadine, Corbin; Daegan, Bryce, Lyla, Violet, Harmony (she was predeceased by a great-grandson Jacob); a niece Linda Pollock and husband Bill of Bethel, nephew Mark Ellingwood and wife Rena of Newark; as well as Gerard's side of the family.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Johnsbury this Wednesday 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions, marked for the Resident Activity Fund, could be directed to The Pines, 601 Red Village Rd., Lyndonville VT 05851, or to The Good Shepherd School, 121 Maple St., St. Johnsbury VT 05819.
