Julia A. Berry, 75, of Lyndonville, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a brief illness.
Julia was born on August 20, 1950, in St. Johnsbury to Robert & Clara (Washburn) Gardner. She grew up in Lyndonville, graduating from Lyndon Institute with the Class of 1969 before beginning a career in food service, first at the Darling Inn Nursing Home and later at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital before retiring in 2009. She married Howard Berry on June 13, 1998, sharing 27 years together until her passing.
Known as JUJU by her close friends and family, Julia enjoyed cooking, even outside of work. She loved fishing with Howard, knitting, crocheting, and country & western music. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her girls Darla & Irene. She loved her family and her German Shepherds. She will be greatly missed.
Julia is survived by her husband, Howard Berry; children Jennifer (Tom) Goldsmith, Jason (Jenn) Berry, and Janice (Moe Carr) Berry; grandchildren Randy, Angela, Nick, Jordan, Jason, Cody, Jasmine, and McKayla; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers Don (Wanita) Gardner & Robert (Brigida) Gardner, Jr.; nephews Levi & Adam Gardner. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Gardner, Sr. & Clara Gray, niece Lori Gardner, and stepfather Fred Gray.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 1:00-2:30 at Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Lyndonville, VT. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 2:30 at the same location. Burial will take place at Woodmont Cemetery in East Burke at the convenience of the family.
