Karen Bean Cunningham

August 13, 1940 — January 5, 2024

Lyndonville, VT

Lyndonville, VT: Karen Bean Cunningham passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 5, 2024, at The Pines Health & Rehab.

Karen was born in Concord, VT, on August 13, 1940, to the late Dennison and Eunice (Remick) Bean. She grew up in St. Johnsbury and at the family camp in Concord, VT, graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1958. She resided in Vermont until she moved to Yuma, AZ, in 2006. There, she met and married Russell Cunningham. They enjoyed traveling and attending their local church, where she would partake in their annual Christmas pageant. They shared ten years together before his passing in 2016. Although she much preferred the sunny days in Arizona, she moved back to Vermont in 2017 to be closer to her family, who lovingly knew her as Mimi and Great Mimi.

She is survived by her brother: D. David Bean and wife Ruth Ann of Columbia, SC; her children: James Granville of CA, Jared Forbes of Littleton, NH, and Jody Fenoff and husband Todd of Lyndonville, VT; two grandchildren: Mitchell Forbes of Beaverdam, VA, and Felicia Wilkins and husband Taylor, and their children Chase and Aubree of Hartford, VT.

Karen was predeceased by daughter, Janey Forbes, and grandson, Maxwell Gillespie.

Her family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the entire staff of The Pines, where their exceptional care of and love for Karen was evident.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Karen’s memory be sent to The Pines Health & Rehabilitation, 601 Red Village Road, Lyndonville, VT, 05851, Attn Kerri.

A graveside service will be planned for June 21, 2024, at 11 AM at the Lyndon Center Cemetery. There will be no calling hours at this time.
