Springfield, VT and formerly Lyndonville, VT: Linda Ann Wheeler, age 76, died peacefully with her husband by her side at the Jack Bryne Center in Lebanon, NH, Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Linda was born on December 21, 1949, in St. Johnsbury, VT, daughter to the late Romeo Ernest and Althea Eva (Carter) Goyet. She was raised and educated in Lyndonville, VT, graduating from Lyndon Institute with the Class of 1968 and worked for St. Johnsbury Trucking from ’68-’70. On December 18, 1970, she married Roger Wheeler and shared 55 years and took on the role of bookkeeper for “Rogers Office Machine Service.” Linda did childcare, worked in the Cafeteria at Riverside Middle School in Springfield and later at Springfield High School until retiring. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was active at the Springfield Senior Center where she would visit with friends, play cribbage, pinochle, bingo, do puzzles and play shuffleboard. In 2023 Linda was “Senior of the Year!” She loved to travel and go camping with Roger at Pageant Park in Barton for over 50 years. Linda loved spending time with her daughter, Rose, taking her on shopping trips. She loved dogs and cats and enjoyed pet-sitting.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Roger Wheeler, of Springfield, her daughter, Rose Wheeler, also of Springfield, Debbie Burr who was like a daughter to Linda, her 3 siblings: James Goyet and wife, Deborah, of Smithfield, VA, Janis Henderson and husband, Alec, of Lyndonville, Paul Goyet and wife, Debbie, of Lyndonville and several nieces and nephews and her closest friends: Bill & Nancy White and their grandchildren.
Friends may call on the family from 1-2PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville.
Services will follow immediately after calling hours at 2PM with reception to follow at the Lyndon Outing Club at 3PM.
Burial will take place at the St. Johnsbury Center Cemetery at 1PM on Thursday, June 25th
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Springfield Senior Center at a date to be determined.
