Allen, Louise E., 88, of Newark, VT, formerly of Marshfield, Massachusetts. Louise died on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in East Burke, VT.
Louise was born March 17, 1938 in East Millonocket, Maine, the daughter of Merton W. Allen, an Iron Worker, and Mary Dorothy (Lewis) Allen, a Housewife.
Louise graduated from Marshfield High School class of 1957, and went to work for Commercial Union Insurance Company in Boston Massachusetts until her retirement.
Louise enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark movies, knitting in her earlier years, Mickey Mouse, and most of all shopping.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother: John M, Allen, Sr. and his wife, Carol, of Marshfield, Massachusetts and her brothers in law: Frederick W. Schlup of Newark VT and Robert C. Ritson of Burke, VT, and great niece: Katelyn Allen.
Louise is survived by her sisters: Margaret J Schlup of Newark VT, and Barbara J Ritson of Burke, VT. Though she never married she was richly surrounded by family, her beloved 4 nieces, 5 nephews, and their significant others, 11 great-nieces and 10 great-nephews and their significant others, 19 great-great-nieces and 7 great-great-nephews and their significant others, and a great-great-great-niece.
A Graveside Service will be held at East Ridge Cemetery, Sutton, VT on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 2 PM.
