Marguerite M. LaBree, age 97, of Pudding Hill Road, died peacefully at the Pines Health & Rehab, Sunday afternoon, December 24, 2023, Christmas Eve.
Marguerite was born in Hardwick, VT, on March 19, 1926, daughter to the late Henry J. and Mary Rose (Munier) Patoine. She was raised and educated in Walden and Hardwick, married Raymond LaBree on January 19, 1947. They shared 49 years at the time of his passing on July 10, 2006. Marguerite worked at Wear Knitters in Hardwick and at Maple Grove in St. Johnsbury, but mainly raised her family. She was an active member at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and did cleaning and taking care of the Altar cloths for many years. She was very talented and enjoyed sewing, quilting and making braided rugs, gardening and playing cards, especially Skip-Bo. Marguerite even built a stone wall along her entire property at camp in South Wheelock.
She is survived by her son: Robert H LaBree and wife, Susan, of Lyndonville, her son-in-law: Bernard Boulay of Lyndonville, 7 siblings: Clement Patoine of Sutton, Francis “Frank” Patoine and wife, Elsie, of Walden, Guy Patoine and wife, Milly, of Hardwick, Theresa Rayta and husband, Donald, of Jeffersonville, VT, Lucille Keene of Wolcott, VT, Denise Adams and husband, Wendell, of Lyndonville, Andre Patoine of Sheffield, 6 grandchildren: Kelly Ingalls (Tracy), Eric LaBree (Karen), Erin LaBree, Scott Boulay (Susan), Melissa Hall (Stacy), Laura Leonard (Jerry), 7 great-grandchildren: Kayden, Layla, Brady, Cooper, Grace, Cassie, Elizabeth and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter: Doris Boulay, 7 brothers: Leopold, Normand, Fernand, Bernard, Lawrence, Victor and Henri Patoine and a sister: Angelene Deschamps.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM, Friday, December 29, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Church on High Street in Lyndonville, VT. Burial will immediately follow at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery on Hill Street.
Friends may call on the family from 5-7PM Thursday evening the 28th at the Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville.
Memorial donations may be made in Marguerite's name to Corpus Christi Parish, 49 Winter Street, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
