Marie Ann Manning, 64, of Lyndonville, Vermont died at the University of Vermont Medical Center on Sunday, March 10 after a long illness. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Marie was the daughter of the late Denis and Mary (O’Sullivan) Manning. Marie moved to Vermont in 1975 to attend Lyndon State College. After earning her bachelor’s degree in education at Lyndon, she earned a master’s in psychology at Goddard College, and a certificate of advanced study in educational leadership from Trinity College. She worked for years as a guidance counselor at Lyndon Town School and as a counselor at Oxbow High School. She was also involved with Northeast Kingdom Human Services and Umbrella.

Marie will be remembered for her love of crafts such as quilting, basket making, and jewelry. Her career helping children was particularly meaningful to her.

She is survived by her sons Moses and Noah Manning, ex-husband Martin Holladay, and cousins James and Karen O’Donoghue.

A memorial services will be held on April 6 at 2:00 pm at the Sheffield Town Hall.
