Marilyn Elaine Drew

Lyndonville, VT: Marilyn Drew, 85, a lifelong resident of Burke, VT, passed peacefully on Sunday January 21, 2024, with her sons by her side.

Marilyn was born in Lyndon, VT,  June 30, 1938, daughter to the late Earl Leslie and Rose Delphene (Denonville) Baird. A lifelong resident of Burke, she graduated from Lyndon Institute in the Class of 1956, was a longtime member of the West Burke United Methodist Church and on October 6, 1956, married Leon John Drew, sharing 37 years at the time of his passing on November 9, 1993. Marilyn was a bookkeeper and was an insurance agent for Sawyer, Caledonia and Reynolds Insurance agencies for 34 years. She enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, spending time with family, following the grandchildren’s activities and spending winters in Myrtle Beach for several years beginning in 2000. Marilyn’s children and grandchildren have been her inspiration for many years.

She is survived by her 2 sons: Michael Drew and wife, Kimberly J. of Callaway, VA and Duane Drew and wife, Kimberly E. of Glen Allen, VA; son-in-law Kenneth Deth of Burke, Vt; 5 grandchildren: Rose Achilles (William), Julie Drew, Amanda Drew-Emmons (Scott), Abigail Drew (Heidi Fortin), Alexander Drew and 7 great-grandchildren: Meghan, Chase, Cadence, Tatum, Emery, Isaiah, and Jack.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband: Leon Drew, daughter: Jane Deth in 2010 and her grandson: Kevin Deth in 2020.

A Graveside Service will be planned for 1PM on June 21, 2024, at the Hillside Cemetery in West Burke.
