Marilyn J. Hughes

Marilyn Hughes passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Dartmouth Hospital Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

She was born in Lyndonville, VT on January 8, 1936, to Walter J. and Vera M. (Cota) Hughes and was a graduate of Lyndon Institute and Fisher College.  Following graduation, she was employed by Vermont Tap & Die followed by many years at Lyndonville Savings Bank & Trust Company, then accepted a part-time job with Lussier Auction Services.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents and her brother Robert and sister-in-law Anita and cousin Linda Miscavish. She is survived by a niece, Karen Love of Charlotte, NC, and nephews, Robert of Charlotte NC, and Brian and wife, Edith of Brussels, Belgium; also, by cousins, Betty Gordon of Bristol, CT, and Norma Cota of Tonawanda, NY.

In her younger years Marilyn enjoyed her various pets, collecting, gardening, camping at Shadow Lake, and volunteering at Lyndon Area Food Shelf, and as a member of the St. Elizabeth Women’s Group at St. Elizabeth Church.

There will be no visiting hours.  A graveside service will take place on May 14, 2024, at 10am at the St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Lyndonville.
