Mary Lou Greenwood

Mary Lou Greenwood passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, just three days shy of her 77th birthday. Mary Lou was born May 21, 1948, to James and Elaine (Scott) Greenwood of St. Johnsbury. She was raised on the family farm and attended St. Johnsbury schools: St. Johnsbury Center School and St Johnsbury Academy.

In 1986 she and her parents moved to their new home on Bible Hill Road in St. Johnsbury. In 2018 Mary Lou joined the Canterbury Inn family, where she lived, until her passing.

Predeceased by her parents: James and Elaine Greenwood.

Mary Lou leaves behind her brother David (Cathe) Greenwood, her nieces Heidi Sessions, Megan (William)Harvey, Cami Greenwood, her nephew David (Jenn) Greenwood, Dan Harvey, her great nephew William (Shannon) Harvey great nieces Rileigh (Travis) Grosse, Kelsey Greenwood, Reghan Greenwood her great-great nephews Jacob and Ethan Harvey. She also leaves behind a very special childhood friend Gail (Sam) Roberts. Graveside service is planned for Tuesday, May 27, at 10 am at the St. Johnsbury Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canterbury Inn at 46 Cherry Street, St Johnsbury, Vermont. Mary Lou‘s family would like to thank her family at the Canterbury: Eric and Deb Bach, Lucy, Kim, Tess, Morgan, Taylor, Raven, Yvette, John, Jeff, Dean, Shaun and Shirley.
