Mary O'Donnell

Mary Dianne O’Donnell, 69, of Prospect Street in Lancaster, NH passed away peacefully with family Wednesday night, July 23, 2025, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mary was born in Boston, MA on June 20, 1956. She attended St. Johnsbury Academy graduating with the Class of 1974. She married Kevin Thomas O’Donnell on February 21, 1999. The couple shared 30 years together. Since retiring in 2020. Mary previously worked as a Graphic Artist for the Caledonian Record and many other agencies while stationed at different military bases with her husband, Kevin.

As she knew her time was drawing near, Mary wanted to share some of her thoughts:

I am gone to my heavenly home. God has blessed me with family, friends, nurses and doctors.

In the process of moving around the United States God blessed both her and Kevin with job opportunities and comfortable homes to live in.

God allowed her to live beyond what the doctor’s prognosis was.

Being with God is not about worldly things or circumstances, to her was about spiritual growth and developing a deeper relationship with Jesus. Mary allowed God’s Love light to shine even in the darkest days of this disease. With God’s strength, Mary didn’t let the dark days rob her of the Love Light.

Mary had a great love for God and the church. She donated her time at various food shelves. While she loved staying home puttering around the house, she enjoyed the occasional casino trip. She also was quite fond of her own cat, Dusty. She loved her sister time and her cat time with her sister’s cat, Fluff-fluff.

Survivors include her husband: Kevin O’Donnell of Lancaster, NH; two children: Angela Odell of Charlotte, NC and Kevin O’Donnell, Jr and wife Kelsey of Barnet, VT; three siblings: Bea Harris of San Diego, CA, Linda Alderman of Colchester, VT, and Terrie Therrien of St. Johnsbury, VT; and five grandchildren: Kailey Odell, Kevin J, Merrigan, and Finnleigh O’Donnell, and Kate Tamburo. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents: Clement and Shirley (Ledoux) Therrien; a son: Joshua Farrell; a nephew: Randy White; and a brother-in-law: Dale Alderman.
