Mary Schlesinger

Mary Schlesinger, 68, of Lyndonville, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at her home.

Mary was born on May 1, 1957, in New Bedford, MA to David and Ann Sharp. She was raised on Long Island, NY, graduating from Sachem High School in Ronkonkoma, NY with the class of 1975. She married Michael Schlesinger on February 12, 1978, sharing 47 years together before her passing.

Mary was beloved by many around the world. She spent 35 years working in Manhattan hotels and was still getting reference calls to this day. After moving to Vermont, she worked for 10 years at Lyndon State College. She was affectionately known as Ms. Mary. She loved her work and put her whole self into it, but also enjoyed her time camping, skiing, collecting rocks and, most importantly, spending time with her family. She was always content just being with family. When you met Mary, you knew you were in the presence of a loving, calm, and compassionate soul. She will be missed by many, and her legacy will continue for years to come.

Mary is survived by her husband, Michael Schlesinger; children Deanna Schlesinger & Jason Schlesinger; siblings David (Anotnio) Sharp, Stephen (Leigh) Sharp, Patty (Dave) Izzo, & Annmarie (Greg) Eguchi; brother-in-law Steven Schlesinger; grandchildren Joseph Schlesinger & Luis Dicierdo; and great-grandchildren Arabella Dicierdo & Ava Dicierdo. She was predeceased by her parents and her granddaughter Annabelle Klein.

Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 2-4pm at Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Lyndonville, VT. A memorial service will take place beginning at 3:30pm at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
