Patricia Nichols

St. Johnsbury, VT: Patricia Ann Nichols, age 82, passed at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury with her family by her side, Thursday, December 28, 2023, following a rapid decline.

Pat was born in Mildenhall, Suffolk, England, on August 31, 1941, daughter to the late Douglaston Claude and Hilda Mabel (Presland) Parnell. She was raised and educated in Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk, completing her secondary education there. In 1965 Patricia emigrated and lived in Fairfield and Milford, CT, working at the Brook Bond Tea Company there.  She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed gardening, line dancing, knitting and crocheting.  She loved animals and had guinea pigs and a cockateel.  In 1982 she came to St. Johnsbury and worked for Artistic Gardens for some time doing books and recordkeeping.

She is survived by her 3 children: Gary Nichols of St. Johnsbury, Roy Nichols of Lyndonville, Beverley Mitton, of Lyman, NH, 3 brothers: Raymond Parnell ad wife, Diane, Robin Parnell and wife, Ann, Peter Parnell and wife Janice, a sister: Sheila Bird and husband, Brian, all of Bury St. Edmunds. 5 grandchildren: Stephen and Nathan Nichols, Chelsea, Emily and Dylan and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother: David Parnell.

A Graveside Service will be held in the spring at 10AM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St. Johnsbury, VT. There will be no calling hours at this time.
