Renee Adler

October 14, 1950 — November 19, 2015

Renee Adler was born in Brooklyn, New York to Ani and Oskar Adler, who were both Holocaust survivors. She grew up in Brooklyn with her brother Arnold, attended Erasmus Hall High School, and graduated from Pratt University. Renee was a free spirit with many creative interests, and was much beloved by her wide circle of international friends and family. For the past 32 years, she lived in Walden, Vermont, where she worked as a potter and art teacher. She was an avid gardener and amateur botanist, who loved art, dance, music and the theater.
Renee was a passionate traveler, who spent time in South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Australia and Israel. Her treasured godchildren include Risa Scobie of New York, Aaron Watson of Charlottesville, Virginia, Cheten and Chewang Sherpa of Burlington, Vermont, Roie Amsterdamer of New York, and Kiva Silberfeld of New York. Family members Ainat Maler and Rafi Maler of Israel, Esther Zuberman of Buenos Aires, Argentina and Dan and Abbe Felton of Florida join her many friends who mourn the loss of a beautiful soul. She will be forever missed.
