Rodney Dwyer

Barton, VT: Rodney Dwyer, age 84, formerly of Sheffield, VT, died at the Maple Lane Nursing Home, in Barton, VT, Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Rodney was born in Wheelock on August 14, 1941, son of William and Wilma Dwyer. He attended Sheffield Heights School and graduated from Barton Academy in 1959. After high school he served an enlistment in the US Air Force. After his enlistment he worked at various businesses and lived in Rhode Island. Nearing retirement, he returned to Sheffield helping in different capacities. His life deteriorated and he was cared for at Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton.

Rod is survived by two brothers Larry and wife Bonnie of Orleans and Frank and wife Lori of Sheffield. He is also survived by a sister Eilene and husband Bill Jasper of North Carolina as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters: Maxine Dwyer and Sandra Nielson and brother Dennis Dwyer.

Friends may call on the family on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 12:30 to 2pm at Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Lyndonville VT. A Graveside Service with military honors will take place the same day at 3pm at Westlook Cemetery in Glover.
