East Haven, VT: Scott Michael Rivers, age 83, passed unexpectedly at home Sunday morning, June 29, 2025.
Scott was born on October 24, 1941, in Lyndon, VT, Son to the late Leonard and Ruth (Cox) Rivers. He was raised in Kirby and Newark, VT, attending school in Newark. He served in the VT National Guard, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and target shooting. Other enjoyed past times included reading and watching MMA, boxing and Jeopardy. He was dedicated to his cherished wife, Linda; working together on the farm and making many special memories. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his six grandchildren and first great-grandchild grow up. He was a wonderful husband and father, that was very proud to raise a wonderful family. Everyone could always count on him to tell stories of his life and reminisce of the past. He spent many years farming; in the hay field and raising heifers. Wheelock, VT, Dennise Lunnie (Harold) of Concord, VT, Clarissa Rivers Rice (Phil Degreenia) of Sheffield, VT, Jack Rivers (Michelle Berry) of East Haven, 6 siblings: Dorothy Houghton of Florida, Judy Bickford of Lyndonville, Lena Mitchell of Sutton, Rachel Cole (Charlie) of Lunenburg, Rochel Simpson of Concord, VT, Margaret Humphrey (George) of East Haven, 6 grandchildren: Ryan Baker (Brittney), Weston, Jacob & Trevor Lunnie, Taran & Chase Rice (their father Chuck Rice) and 1 great-grandchild: Ryah Baker and several nieces and nephews.
