Scott Way, of Maple St. in St. Johnsbury, died of drowning Saturday, July 25, 2015 at The Pines Island picnic area at The Moore Dam in Littleton at the age of 24.

He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on April 24, 1991, the son of James and Tina (Pond) Way. His father passed away eleven years ago.

Scott was employed at Eastern Main Market in St. Johnsbury for the past six months. He had previously worked at Horizons Deli in St. Johnsbury and as a logger for Steve Lowrey. He was really into motor-cross, loved to camp and cook, and weigh lifted most every day. In the wintertime he enjoyed snowboarding at Burke Mt. He was especially close to his brother Eric and girlfriend Heather. He and Heather attended church at The Union Baptist Church.

He is survived by ]his girlfriend Heather Braun; ]his mother Tina Briggs and her husband Allyn of St. Johnsbury; ]maternal grandmother Cathy Pond of Concord; ]paternal grandmother Ann Way of Littleton N.H ].; step-grandparents Harry and Margaret Briggs of St. Johnsbury ]; two brothers : Eric Way of St. Johnsbury, Michael Larocque and Heaven of Canaan N.H., ]sister Sara Lee Larocque and husband David Hodge of Canaan N.H., ]two step-sisters Mindi Briggs and Branden Rosengren of St. Johnsbury, Shannon Berry and husband Scott of Woodsville N.H.; ]step-brother Tim Briggs and Michelle Skinner of Concord; ]Heather's parents Brenda and Rick Bedor of St. Johnsbury; all his aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home this Friday, July 31, from 6-8 p.m. The gathering will conclude at 7:45 p.m. with a prayer service led by his uncle, Brian White.
