Shari A. Ross

Danville, VT: Shari A. Ross, age 78 of North Danville, VT, died at her home February 16, 2026, with family beside her following a long decline.

Shari was born on July 28, 1947, in St. Johnsbury, VT, daughter to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Jamieson) Austin. She grew up in St. Johnsbury and graduated with the Class of 1965 at St. Johnsbury Academy. She went to Mary Fletcher School of Nursing, Johnson State College and later received her Master’s of Education from Trinity College of Vermont. Shari began her teaching career at Saint Johnsbury Academy teaching health occupations. She later taught science at the Danville School, all while working as an obstetric nurse at NVRH.

She enjoyed travelling, especially trips with the “Girls” to Great Wass Island in Maine, cooking, rug hooking, gardening, pottery, collecting and time at home with her very beloved dogs and cats.

She is survived by her son: Justin Ross (Casee O’Brien) of Saint Albans, VT, her siblings: Jean DeGeorge (Anthony) of the Villages, FL, Wendy Lamphere (Jeff) of Peacham, VT, Jay Austin (Maggie) of Danville, VT, Lynn Austin of Barre, VT, and sister in law Bonnie Ross of Baldwinsville NY, 1 grandson: Andrew Ross and his mother: Kelly Oles Ross.

She was predeceased by her parents and her former husband: David Ross.

A Celebration of Life will be held at her home in the spring when the Crab Apples are in bloom.
