Sharon Lynn Bengston

 St. Johnsbury, VT: Sharon Lynn Bengston, age 64, of Sunset Drive passed away at her home in her sleep January 1, 2025, following a recent decline and a long 40-year battle with cancer.

 Sharon was born on April 28, 1960, in St. Johnsbury, VT, daughter to the late Robert and Bertha (Whitcher) Bengston. She was raised and educated here and remained a lifelong resident. Sharon graduated from the St. Johnsbury Academy in the Class of 1978 and worked in the Mental Health field most of her life. She was the Administrative Director for Addiction Services at Northeast Kingdom Human Services starting her career there 18 years ago in medical records.

 Sharon enjoyed woodworking and spending time at the ocean on the many beaches of Maine.

 She is survived by her wife of over 40 years, Linda Scavitto-Bengston, her mother-in-law: Shirley Scavitto, both of St. Johnsbury, Children: Paul Scavitto (Denise) also of St. Johnsbury, Dustin Scavitto (Ashley) of Barre, VT, siblings: Doug Bengston (Jane) of St. Johnsbury, Gina Payette (Linda Holly) of Cairo, GA, 6 very beloved grandchildren: Tristin & Therin, Wyatt & Winsley, Oliver & Vivian, and nephew: James Bengston, nieces Sarah Bengston, Rebecca Phillips & Christina LaCount.

 In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Sharon’s Memory to the Kingdom Animal Shelter, 1161 Portland Street, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.

 A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday January 9, 2025, at the Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury and will begin at 1PM offering stories continuing until 3PM. Please share your experiences with Sharon with all her family and friends.
