Stephen P. MacDonald, 70, of North Danville, passed away on February 1, 2026, at his home.
Stephen was born on February 22, 1955, in Winchester, MA to Harold MacDonald and Helen Connor MacDonald. He graduated from Winchester High School before beginning work in Fiber optics. He married his loving wife, Gayle Sullivan on October 22, 1983, sharing 42 years together before his passing.
Stephen will be remembered as being full of life, enjoying the simple things in life and making friends everywhere he went. He loved being outdoors, fishing, feeding his birds and watching his deer. Stephen loved spending time with his family and friends and was always one of the biggest personalities in the room. After his retirement from fiber optics he excelled in his second career as an amateur comedian, spreading love and laughter everywhere he went. He loved nothing more than gathering with his new friends, old friends and family in the famous Sawdust Saloon. Stephen loved life and the people that were lucky enough to be in his life and will be greatly missed.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Gayle MacDonald of Danville; children Robert and Kristen Briggs of Littleton, NH and Kimberly and Jon Augeri of Walden; grandchildren Caleb & Gracie Villareal and Taylor & Avery Weir; siblings John MacDonald and his wife Roxanne of East Burke and Ellen MacDonald of Danville; niece Marci and Glenn Bostic and nephew Ryan MacDonald. He was predeceased by his parents Harold & Helen MacDonald.
And all the members of The Sawdust Saloon, here is my last toast to YOU.
A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers the family recommends a shot of Doctors in Stephen’s honor.
