Susan E. Stevens

Susan E. Stevens, 76, of St. Johnsbury, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025 at her home.

Susan was born on July 6, 1949 in Portland, ME to Forrest and Alice (Peary) Mills. She attended schools in Portland, ME and Gorham, ME where she graduated high school, as well as hair dressing school before dedicating much of her life to raising her two children. Later in life, she was known to many in the community having worked in the card section at Family Dollar. She also worked at Dollar General, Dunkin Donuts, The Caledonian Record and Ethan Allen. Susan will be remembered as a person who cherished the simple joys of life. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and baking. She loved knitting blankets, hats, washcloths and mittens with her daughter Cindi and helping with Special Olympics. She enjoyed taking walks on the bike path or having a cup of coffee with friends. She knew that people were more important than things, and she spent much of her life building close relationships with those she loved.

Susan is survived by her children: Cindi Stevens & Randy Stevens, daughter-in-law: Emily Stevens; siblings: Alan Mils, Pam Mills, Jeffrey Mills, and Peter Mills, grandchildren: Aaron Stevens & Jodi Stevens as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her parents: Forrest & Alice Mills.
