Suzanne E. Gingue

Lyndonville, VT: Suzanne Emilia Salois Gingue passed on to her eternal life on December 30, 2023, at the age of 97. Suzanne can only be described as a caring, hard-working, doting, and devout wife, mother, grammy, sister, and friend.

Suzanne was born on December 11, 1926, in Stanhope Quebec, the youngest to the late Leon and Emilia (Mercier) Salois. She grew up on the family farm in Stanhope and enjoyed traveling when time allowed. Suzanne married Hilaire Gingue on June 14, 1958, and shared nearly 39 years together until the time of his death in 1997. She was a proud farmwife and was Hilaire’s right hand in everything that was done. They lived in Hardwick after marriage and moved to a farm in Lunenburg in 1960. In 1970 they moved to Lyndonville in a blue farmhouse where she remained until 2014, when she moved in with her son’s family down the road. She enjoyed working on the farm, had a big vegetable garden, and planted many flowers around the house. She enjoyed walking and watching professional wrestling in her later years.

Continually loved and remembered by her family: including son Gerard (Jerry), his wife Jodi, and their children Micaela, Krysta, Brianna, Curtis, and Carter; son Andreo (Andy), and his children Jimmy and Kathryn; daughter Mariette, and her children Michael, Gabbi, and Brittany; and her beloved great-grandchildren Destiny, Brody, Dannika, Calvin, Nathaniel, Dexter, Meadow, Summer, Kelly, Brooke, Logan, Hunter, and Liam. She will be welcomed in heaven by her husband Hilaire, son Conrad, parents Leon and Emilia, and her 12 brothers and sisters.

Her memory lives on in the joy she brought to her family as the best grower of cucumbers, with the cleanest floor you could eat on, and a sometimes surprising taste in fashion.

Celebrations for Suzanne’s life will be on January 6, 2024. Public calling hours will be at 9AM at Guibord Pearson funeral home in Lyndonville followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church on High Street. Burial will follow immediately at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic School, 121 Maple Street, St. Johnsbury, VT.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4

There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance
