Tammy Maurice of St. Johnsbury died unexpectedly after a brief illness Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 at the age of 55.
Tammy was born in St. Johnsbury on October 25, 1960 to her mother Gloria Berube and father Wayne Bumps. She attended Peacham Academy.
Tammy enjoyed camping and picnics with her family. She also loved going fishing. Her grandchildren were "her everything". Christmas was a very special time of the year for her. She was formerly employed at Weidmann. She enjoyed bowling with her mom and daughter.
She is survived by her husband Jeff Maurice; her mother Gloria Berube of St. Johnsbury; her father Wayne Bumps of Keene NH, daughter Shannan Smith and husband Johnathan of St. Johnsbury; two step-children: Crista Maurice and Leah Maurice both of Danville; 3 grandchildren: Ivie Carle and Charles Smith both of St. Johnsbury, and Jamieson Maurice of Danville; brother David O'Dell and wife Maryann of St. Johnsbury; mother-in-law Blanche Maurice of Littleton NH; brother-in-law Gary Maurice and wife Marie of Stone Mt., Georgia; nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home this Monday, Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Given her love of animals, especially dogs, memorial contributions could be directed to her veterinary clinic to help those who are needy care for their dogs: Western Ave. Veterinary Clinic, 54 Western Ave., St. Johnsbury VT 05819. Or given that cancer has touched many family members including Tammy, memorial contributions could be directed to Norris Cotton Cancer Center North, 1080 Hospital Dr., St. Johnsbury VT 05819.
