Walter Timothy “Tim” Leverette, 65, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018, at his home in Sheffield, VT with his wife Annie at his side following a very courageous battle with cancer.
Tim was born in Medford, Oregon on December 5, 1952. He was raised and educated in Pasadena, CA, graduated from Pasadena High School Class of 1970 and then went on to Pasadena City College. On July 14, 1978, Tim married Anne Shanahan. He and Annie shared 40 years together, the last 30 on Berry Hill Road in Sheffield. Tim spent 37 years working for the U.S. Postal Service, first in Altadena and South Pasadena, CA and then in St. Johnsbury, Newport, and Orleans, VT. He then worked for the Department of Corrections for 6 years and retired in February 2018 due to his illness.
In his earlier years, Tim loved to ride his old Harley Panhead with his buddies. Here in VT he enjoyed breeding and raising Tennessee Walking Horses and working on his home and property. Tim was an avid believer in the 2nd Amendment and as such was a lifetime member of the NRA and the California Rifle and Pistol Association. He was also a member of The Church of Christ, Scientist.
Tim is survived by his wife: Anne S. Leverette of Sheffield, VT; a stepdaughter: Juli Wolfinbarger of Lexington, KY; 2 grandchildren: Brandi Lyn Surridge and her father, Timothy Robert Surridge; 2 great-grandchildren: Gunner and Mason; 3 nieces: Victoria Lotz, Wendy Vaughan, and Tara Girard; 3 nephews: Dale , Rusty, and Wally Vaughan; and many good friends and coworkers.
He was predeceased by his father: Walter Harrison Leverette; and his step-mother: Beatrice Smith Leverette.
