William "Bill" Giguere

William K. Giguere, 77, of St. Johnsbury, passed away on June 8, 2026, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital.

Bill was born on May 20, 1949, in St. Johnsbury, to Leo and Ernestine (Miller) Giguere. He attended the St. Johnsbury Trade School before beginning a career as one of the original employees of Northern Gas. He married Cheryl Ann Degreenia on October 18, 1969, sharing 50 years of marriage before her passing on June 6, 2020.

Bill was an avid Red Sox fan who never missed a game and had a great passion for those who served our nation. He trained with the Army during the Vietnam War era and, though he did not see combat, he remained a member of the Vermont Army National Guard after his Army discharge. He was a proud 50-year member of the Lyndonville American legion, serving 10 years as Commander.

Bill is survived by his children Robert A. Giguere of Lyndonville & Karen (Stephen) Badurski of Sheffield; brother David (Sherry) Giguere of Montpelier; sister-in-law Claudia Giguere of Island Pond; grandchildren Robert Badurski of Sheffield and Matthew Badurski of Concord, VT; Cheryl’s siblings Evie Charron of Lyndonville, Daryl (Karen) Degreenia of Sutton, Elaine (Kenny) Rexford of Florida, and Terri O’Conner of Lyndonville; as well as many nieces and nephews and Manny his cat.

He was predeceased by his parents Leo & Ernestine Giguere; wife Cheryl Giguere; brother Michael Giguere; brother & sister-in-law Lyle & Beth Degreenia & brother-in-law Paul Charron.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1pm, at the Sutton Village Cemetery in Sutton, VT, with John Sleeper officiating. There will be no calling hours. Following the graveside there will be a small get together at the American Legion, Post #30, on Memorial Drive from 2-5PM.
