William Gould

Lyndonville, VT: William E. Gould, age 85, of Cold Hill Road, passed peacefully at his home, Monday , September 7, 2026.

Bill was born in New Haven, CT, on June 6, 1941, son to the late George Edward and Mary (Kopylec) Gould. He grew up in North Haven on his grandparents’ farm and graduated from North Haven High School in the Class of 1958 and joined the U.S. Navy where he was a Medic. Bill worked at Pratt & Whitney and also drove school bus while in CT. He married Dorothy Hilton on August 27, 1964, and shared 54 years until her passing on December 28, 2018. They moved to Vermont in 1975 and continued raising the family while he worked at Fairbanks Scales, Vermont Tap & Die -Northeast Tool. Growing up on a farm, Bill kept a strong love for animals and continued to run a small farm with cows, pigs, chickens and the like. Above all this he loved his grandkids, great-grandkids and all the extended family.

Bill is survived by his 2 daughters: Diane Kittredge and Donna Gould, both of Lyndonville, 2 sisters: Helen White of West Yarmouth, MA, Alice Simpson of Wheelock, VT, 6 grandchildren: Kristy Easterbrooks, Michael Davis, Nicole Kittredge, Billy MacDougall, Rick (Ariane) Kittredge and Jon (Crystal) Kittredge; 9 great-grandchildren: Robert, Jacob, Tyra, Matthew, Aubrey who was his “special little caretaker,” Kaleigh, RJ, Ariel, Caiden and his great-great-granddaughter: Magnolia.

He was also predeceased by his son: William Gould, Jr, son-in-law: Richard Kittredge, and 2 sisters: Ruthie Lewis and Mary Della Camera.

There will be no calling hours at this time. Burial will take place at a later date at the Lyndon Center Cemetery.
